Set up to Launch a Podcast
When you begin podcasting as a career, you may wonder things like, “Should I start this? Should I acquire an expensive mic and expensive gear to become a great podcaster?” To that, I’d say, “No, you simply need a good attitude and a passion to do it with your full enthusiasm.” Let’s now discuss the essential requirements for a simple podcast setup.
Download Anchor FM from the Google Play Store or the iOS App Store. If you’re using a laptop, go to Anchor.fm to create an account. You may also easily sign up using your Google account.
Now You have knowledge of free Podcast apps where you may record and publish podcasts. It is now time to start planning the creation of your podcast channel. In order to start a podcast channel, you will need a Gmail or Facebook account, which you would use to register on Anchor FM and create an account.
Find Topic & Create Podcast Channel
You cannot start a channel without choosing a topic, so I advise you to decide what subject you are most knowledgeable about, before launching. Is it Motivation, Technology, or something else? Research your topic and then choose a channel name that will help you appear in search results.
Because when you select a compelling topic and are confident that there are enough listeners, you have already won half the battle. There is only one thing left to do: record your episode and add some interesting content.
Record Your First Podcast Episode
When you don’t know how to use these technologies, in order to start a podcast or recording your first episode, it might be a little difficult for you, but don’t worry, I’m here to explain how easily you can record a podcast on Anchor FM. You just have to log in to your account and you will see buttons on the bottom for Analytics, Tools, and Your Podcast.
You just have to click on Tools, and you will see a plus sign button. Click it, and you will get a recording icon. Click that icon, and you will see Recording Begin. Same way if you want to stop Recording Click Same button Again and Recording will Stop. Even if you are not a tech savvy person, you can still easily finish the task.
By the way, if you want to record your podcast using some external software, you can do that too; in fact, i’d recommend few of the ones listed below.
Podcast Recording Software
Let’s say you don’t like the features of the podcast app. In that case, you can use an external podcast recording software, this is something that many people do—even I have used some Podcast Recording Software —to edit our podcast professionally, remove background noise, and add some pleasant background music. I’ll also list some of the best podcast recording software that you can use to start a podcast Recording.
- Logic Pro X
- Adobe Audition
Create Attractive Podcast Artwork
You should keep a close eye on your podcast artwork if you are starting a podcast because it will encourage people to click on your podcast show. As you are aware, no matter how excellent your podcast is, it is useless if no one knows about it.
Make a compelling podcast cover image. If you don’t know how to make podcast cover art, you can utilise Canva to get a variety of prebuilt picture templates that you can customise to meet your needs.
You’ve finished recording your first podcast and are ready to publish it, but first you must give it a proper name and description. You can also include a hastag and a link in the description, just like on YouTube. There are other crucial options, such as the category you can select based on your topic and the cover image you can upload, which will help listeners understand what this podcast is all about.
You have the option of publishing it immediately or scheduling it for a specific time.
I’ve shown you how you can start a podcast without spending any money, but there is still a lot to learn about podcasting. Since I can’t cover every possible method, I advise you to conduct additional research and come up with helpful hints, such as starting a podcast on YouTube, which is also a free method. You can look into it, too.
